Hamilton Squash Racquets Club began in 1936 as an "all-male", one court club in Barton Street.  Steady growth saw three courts opened on the present Tristram Street site in 1960.  A fourth court was added in 1964, the Gallary Court in 1971 and major alterations and extensions were carried out in 1983 including the addition of a glass-back court.  The Club has had the honour of hosting World Events in 1971, 1983 and 1989 as well as many National Championships over the years.

  

Hamilton Tennis Club began in the early 1900s with one singles court and three doubles courts in the vicinity of St Peters Tennis Club moving to Hinemoa Park in the 1920s.  The club boasted some top players of the day.

In 1992 both clubs names were changes to become known as the Hamilton Squash and Tennis Club Inc.

Centrally located, HSCT provides social sporting activities to a wide variety of people within our community and have done so for over 80 years.  Currently, we have on our records approximately 500 memberships made up of men, women and children ranging in age from 5 to 85!

Our MISSION is to provide facilities and services to everyone who loves sport, fitness and healthy living.

 

Amongst our desired outcomes:

• For more kids, young people and adults to engage in sport and recreation

• Ensure that the experience of all our participants is positive and one that is healthy and engaging

• Provide ongoing events and facilities to the general sports community and keep the subscription prices within the reach of the average person
